So last night was a lot of fun. Teetz and I got to Omaha a little after ten and as soon as we walked in the house and Adam saw me he had this huge grin on his face and I told him to stop being a doofus and give me a hug. It was so awesome to actually be able to see him in person and talk to him in person and to joke around and have everything like normal again. He's not actually leaving until March 31st, so we've got a little time at least and I really want him to hang in Lincoln for a few hours at least sometime in the next couple weeks. The usual crowd was there, except Moose and that made me sad because I took a bunch of pictures as usual, and of course Adam and Silas were rocking out on their air guitars, but usually Moose does it too, so it was a little weird with him not being there to partake in the festivities. Everyone got good and drunk and passed out, which was fun. Teetz went to sleep waaaaay early so Adam and I went into the room and one of us was saying to let him sleep and one of us was saying we should wake him up. I honestly can not remember who was saying what, but we finally agreed to let him sleep for ten more minutes (at teetz's request) and then to wake him up. Well, Adam and I forgot about that ten minute thing because we ended up not waking him for a whole hour. Then I kind of remember Adam literally dragging Teetz out into the kitchen for another beer. A while later I went back into the kitchen because I had been in another room talking to Alex and Cody, and Teetz was passed out on the floor in the dining room. Adam kinda felt bad about that one. Slowly but surely everyone started going to sleep until it was just a few of us left awake. Adam was talking about Iraq and some of the stuff that's happened lately and it was really tough for me to sit there and listen to him say some of the stuff he was saying - like how he was lucky he had on his Kevlar (spelling?) vest one day or he might not be around right now, or the roadside bombs that have gone off about two feet from the tank he was driving, or the ambushes on his convoy. I left the room for a while just because Adam is home to hang out with us and have a good time and the last thing he needs right now is be crying like a baby, but Cody came into Mike's room where I had gone to just sit for a little bit to calm myself and I ended up crying to him because he was kind of feeling the same way. And to top it off, Cody may be going overseas now too! I swear, sometimes I don't know what my boys are thinking, but I love them anyway of course. Eventually Cody and Lunchbox went to sleep too and it was just me and JD and Adam left still talking until almost 6 am. JD thought he'd make it til sunrise but finally we were too tired. In his all his geniusness though, he turned off the lights as we were walking down the hall so the house was completely dark and none of us could see what rooms we were going to. Adam and I talked a few minutes more about finding time for him to come to Lincoln and I am hoping it works so he can come on a Tuesday, since that's the only day of the week where I don't work at Office Depot in the evening. We'll see what happens, I may go with them all to see the Lager Band next weekend, since Missy will be there then, she didn't get to come last night because she ended up having to work today so I was bummed. I was even more bummed when I was woken up half and hour early this morning by Lunchbox snoring. When I went to sleep in this room it was me, Teetz, Silas and Alex sleeping haphazardly on the floor with random pillows and sleeping bags and stuff since Mike isn't completely moved in yet. Silas got up to start drinking again so Lunchbox took his place, and the snoring was soooooo loud - and usually once I am in drunk sleep mode it is hard to wake me up, but this sure did the trick.
Blogger is being dumb right now and won't let me post any pictures but they're on Facebook so go look, it was a pretty good night and a lot of fun.
